Tjeerd Kuipers (Gorredijk, 21 december 1857 - Laren, 13 november 1942) was a Dutch architect.  Together with Arnold Ingwersen he designed housing complexes for Protestant Christian housing associations. He also designed over 50 churches, most of which are demolished.

General description

The Patrimoniumbuurt is a neighbourhood in the Haarlem district of Transvaal, in the Haarlem-North district – where Spaarne river and the north side of Kloppersingel meet. The neighbourhood was designed by architects T.J. Kuipers and A.U. Ingwersen in 1921 and was commissioned by the reformed housing foundation Patrimonium. It was built between 1921 and 1923 and covers some 16 hectares.

Architecture / Urban planning

The neighbourhood consists of 530 houses, built in a similar architectural style. The design is intended as a city neighbourhood with a village character, with a central role for green.
